Learning Lab

CHALLENGE

The Learning Lab at PCA is a difference factor to students in all grades and allows the Academy and its Kingdom Education philosophy to remain a valid option for those who learn differently. Funds are needed to supplement expenses not covered by Learning Lab fees, which are currently funded by individual student participants.

FACTS

  • The Learning Lab serves more than 100 students in all grade levels campus-wide
  • Students in the Learning Lab pay $2,000 annually to utilize the Learning Lab and engage in its full benefit to their individual academic success
  • The actual cost to educate each Learning Lab student is $2,850, leaving a deficit of $850 per student over normal fees and endowment proceeds
  • With a value of $1 million, the Shannon Allbright Learning Lab Endowment generates approximately $50,000 annually to support the Learning Lab

SOLUTION

Increase the funds within the current Shannon Albright Learning Lab Endowment so that its proceeds could be used to meet this financial need. While long-term, the endowment requires a $3 million value to fund this need; the goal of the PCA Initiatives is to add $500,000 to the $1 million endowment. Additionally, to meet immediate needs while the endowment is being funded, annual support in the amount of $25,000 over six years is needed.
