Technology Improvements
CHALLENGE
Teachers and students must have access to up-to-date technology resources, timely training, and technical support to take advantage of the wide range of possibilities and opportunities available through the use of instructional technologies. Funds are needed to expand these technologies as well as maintaining them once they are installed and implemented.
FACTS
- A comprehensive plan has been developed identifying campus-wide technology enhancements and upgrades totaling nearly $3.25 million
- Technology upkeep and maintenance has become one of the largest non-faculty budget items in all school budgets
- $150,000 annually is needed just to replace aging technologies
SOLUTION
Raise annual support to fund the comprehensive technology plan. While the plan outlines over $3 million of improvements, the goal of the PCA Initiatives is to fund $2 million of this plan. Additionally, an endowment is needed with proceeds used to help maintain and replace aging technologies. While long-term, a $5 million endowment is needed to fund this need; the goal of the PCA Initiatives is to fund $1.5 million of the endowment.
