Virtual Academy

CHALLENGE

Strategic planning established a goal to advance the Academy nationally and internationally by becoming a replicable institutional model for Kingdom Education. A strategy has been advanced to help achieve this goal through PCAplus Virtual Academy, which delivers a PCA education worldwide through the Internet. Start-up capital and operating funds are needed to operate and expand this program until it is financially self-supporting.

FACTS

  • In a 2009 survey, one in four high school students nationwide were enrolled in at least one online course, nearly double the 2008 results of one in seven students
  • About 40 percent of school administrators nationwide report that funding hinders their ability to offer online courses
  • PCAplus Virtual Academy was recently accredited by the SACS association, making it possible for students to receive a diploma from an accredited organization, who choose not to attend a traditional brick and mortar institution.

SOLUTION

Raise support to provide capital funding and annual operating needs of the virtual academy until it is financially self-supporting. Annually, $25,000 is needed over four years at which time the business plan of the virtual academy projects it to be self-supporting.
