Supporting Our Students
Six initiatives are carried within this priority of the PCA Initiatives with a combined value of $6.75 million, which are:
- Biblical Worldview Training and Curriculum – The Bible gives us the true history of the universe, and it is only in light of that history that we can interpret the evidence of the present and offer true answers for the problems of mankind. Our curriculum is centered on this Biblical Worldview. A $3 million endowment is needed to provide long-term funding to ensure this commitment to a biblical worldview.
Annual – $250,000 ($50,000 per year for five years)
Endowment – $1 million (long-term goal is $3 million)
- Expanded Programs and Curriculum – Continual expansion of our programs and curriculum is needed to ensure excellence. Strategic planning has identified areas in need of expansion, including a Math Lab for students who seek advancements in this area, a Speech and Communications Studies program, and five full-time positions to lead new or expanded areas. Annual operating support is needed to advance these and other key areas.
Annual – $750,000 (annual amount varies)
- Technology Improvements – Teachers play a vital role modeling and guiding the use of technology. Teachers, therefore, must have access to up-to-date technology resources, timely training, and technical support to take advantage of the wide range of possibilities and opportunities available through the use of technology in the classroom. A comprehensive plan has been developed identifying campus-wide technology enhancements and upgrades totaling nearly $3.25 million. Two endowments are also envisioned; a $3 million endowment is planned to replace aging technology, and a $2 million endowment to train faculty on new technologies.
Capital – $2 million (long-term goal is $3.25 million)
Endowment – $1.5 million (long-term goal is $5 million)
- World Impact Missions – A difference factor at the Academy is our World Impact program and its missions focus, which sends hundreds of students annually into the world to places such as Africa, the Amazon, Costa Rica, Cuba, and the Dominican Republic to help spread God’s love and salvation. Strategic planning has indicated a need for a $2 million endowment to provide annual support for scholarships and other operating needs, plus annual support of $50,000 for the first five years to support the needs while the endowment is being funded.
Annual – $250,000 ($50,000 per year for five years)
Endowment – $250,000 (long-term goal is $2 million)
- Learning Lab – The Learning Lab at the Academy is a difference factor to students in all grades and allows the Academy and its Kingdom Education philosophies to remain a valid option for those who learn differently. The Learning Lab is a priority within our diversity goals. The Shannon Allbright Learning Lab Endowment was funded with an initial gift of $1 million in 2003, and it is our goal to increase the endowment by fifty percent. Annual support is also needed to supplement expenses not covered by Learning Lab tuition.
Annual – $150,000 ($25,000 per year for six years)
Endowment – $500,000 (long-term goal is adding $2 million to the existing $1 million endowment)
- Virtual Academy – Strategic planning has identified the need to extend a Kingdom Education provided by the Academy to those students who are outside of our physical walls, and to expand our curriculum offering to those students who walk the hallways of the Academy on a daily basis, both of which use a distance learning or virtual academy concept. Start-up funding is needed to continue to develop this concept.
Annual – $100,000 ($25,000 per year for four years)
